Caravan coupling and caravan hitch
The GMC 3000 is a caravan coupling for touring caravans and motorhome trailers on a 50 mm towball, rated up to 1500 kg.

What a caravan hitch has to handle
A caravan is tall, heavy and pushed by side wind. The caravan hitch carries the nose weight on the ball, takes the full braking force when the overrun brake engages, and has to let the caravan pitch and turn without play. These loads repeat for thousands of kilometres every season.
Fitting the GMC 3000 to a caravan
The GMC 3000 mounts on the caravan drawbar as an OEM part or as a replacement coupling. We supply the fitting data for your drawbar with the quote.
Checks before every trip
- Lower the coupling onto the ball until it locks, then check the lock indicator.
- Lift the drawbar with the jockey wheel to confirm the coupling cannot come off the ball.
- Attach the breakaway cable to the dedicated point on the tow bar.
- Connect the electrical plug and test all lights.
- Raise and lock the jockey wheel.
- Check the nose weight against the limits of the vehicle and the coupling.
