Why a secure connection matters

If a trailer separates while driving, or the tow ball comes out of the coupling, the driver can lose control of the trailer. It can swerve off course, overturn or hit surrounding vehicles. A safe, stable connection between vehicle and trailer is therefore at the core of the GMC 3000 design.

How the GMC 3000 is designed

The design focuses on a more secure connection, the movement needed between vehicle and trailer, and less maintenance.

360° rotating safety pivot
Allows full rotation between vehicle and trailer, to reduce the transfer of twisting forces and shocks and help lower the risk of overturning.
Double locking mechanism
Two levels of locking: the second lock acts as extra protection if the first one fails, to limit unintended separation while driving.
Stainless steel throughout
The whole body is made of stainless steel, for resistance to rust and corrosion outdoors and a long service life.
Robust design with no fragile parts
No small or weak components that can break or wear quickly, for higher reliability and less maintenance.

The GMC 3000 is designed for a safer, more reliable connection. The actual reduction in overturning risk and maintenance needs is determined by testing and the approved instructions for use.

A trailer hitch coupler for a 50 mm towball and 1500 kg

The GMC 3000 is the part that joins a trailer or caravan drawbar to the tow ball of the towing vehicle. Every force between the two passes through it: pulling, braking, cornering and the vertical load on the ball. It fits a 50 mm towball and is rated for trailers up to 1500 kg.

Tow ball coupling that locks and stays locked

As a tow ball coupling, the GMC 3000 closes over the ball and locks it in the coupling head, so the trailer can articulate freely while staying attached.

Ball hitch and trailer ball coupler for every trailer type

The same ball hitch serves touring caravans, utility trailers, boat trailers and cargo trailers. As a trailer ball coupler it suits OEM fitting and aftermarket replacement.

50 mm ball coupling

The GMC 3000 is a 50 mm ball coupling for the European tow ball standard (ISO 1103), rated for trailers up to 1500 kg.

Questions about the GMC 3000

What happens if the first lock fails?

The GMC 3000 has a double locking mechanism. The second lock acts as extra protection to limit unintended separation while driving.

Will it rust?

The whole body is made of stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion in outdoor use.

What is the Hitch Coupling GMC 3000?

A trailer hitch coupler by GMC Innovations for caravans and trailers on a 50 mm towball, rated up to 1500 kg.

Is the GMC 3000 a ball hitch or a trailer ball coupler?

Both names describe it. A ball hitch, or trailer ball coupler, is the coupling head on the trailer drawbar that locks over the tow ball. The GMC 3000 does this on a 50 mm ball, for trailers up to 1500 kg.

Does it fit a 50 mm tow ball?

Yes. The GMC 3000 is a 50 mm ball coupling for the European tow ball standard (ISO 1103), rated for trailers up to 1500 kg.

What trailer mass is it rated for?

Up to 1500 kg on a 50 mm towball.

Is it suitable as a caravan hitch?

Yes. It is designed as a caravan coupling as well as for utility, boat and cargo trailers.
